The Club holds a number of Annual competitions and events for both Senior and Junior players.

Club competition

The seniors’ club championship is held in May and there is a mixed doubles’ round robin competition that produces some good tennis and a lot of laughs in March.

Christmas is busy at the APLTC with a children’s competition held on one of the Saturdays in December. The competition, which consists mainly of the children who have been involved in the Saturday coaching sessions, is divided into juniors and more experienced players. Food, drinks and a few treats are provided by the club for both competitors and the spectators.

The junior club championships are held in Term 4, usually over the Melbourne Cup Day weekend. Last year more than 90 competitors joined in the fun across three divisions – 10 and under, 12 and under and 18 and under.

Inter-club teams

It’s not just all fun and games at the APLTC, we also offer the opportunity for members to play regular team competition.

We are very proud of our mid-week ladies’ team who have won multiple premierships in the hotly contested Bayside Pennant competition. The doubles competition is held on Thursdays during school terms and the game starts at 10am and finishes around 2.30pm. We play one week at home and then a week away. New players are welcome and you don’t have to commit to full-time play as we are keen to expand our team of emergencies. Please contact the club secretary Paul Robinson on apltconline@gmail.com

The APLTC men’s pennant team, which competes in the Bayside Pennant Competition, is always on the lookout for new players. The doubles competition is played on Saturday afternoons from 1pm until 5pm throughout summer and winter.
